April 19-20, 2016 - Beusse Wolter Sanks & Maire PLLC sponsored the Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM) Partnering Forum on Communication Technologies at Georgia Tech Global Learning Center, Atlanta Georgia. Representing BWSM at this noteworthy event were Dr. Eugene Molinelli and Dr. Judith Evans. The Forum brought together an intimate group of universities and companies interested in mining university technologies in the communications arena. University participants included Georgia Institute of Technology, Georgia Regents University, Iowa State University, Michigan State University Technologies, University of Georgia, University of Maryland, University of Notre Dame, University of South Florida, and University of Southern California Stevens Center for Innovation. Industry participants included Allied Minds, AT&T, Harris Corporation, HySky Technologies, Qualcomm Inc., StarMobile, and University Industry Demonstration Partnership.
- We are pleased to announce that we have agreed to merge Evans & Molinelli PLLC with the Intellectual Property (IP) firm of Beusse Wolter Sanks & Maire PA to form a new partnership: Beusse Wolter Sanks & Maire PLLC (BWSM). Judith Evans, Ph.D., J.D. and Eugene Molinelli, Ph.D., J.D., will join as partners; and, our offices in Manassas Virginia, a commuting distance to the US Patent and Trademark Office, will become the Manassas Office of the new firm. The new firm will have 16 patent attorneys with litigation as well as patent and trademark prosecution expertise and will cover a broad range of technologies including biotechnology, bioinformatics, chemistry, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, software, microfluidics, microelectromechanical systems (MEMS), nanotechnology, medical imagery, medical devices, consumer products, sensors, transducers, applied mathematics and applied physics. In the biotechnology and bioinformatics area, we have 3 Ph.D. patent attorneys, Evans, Molinelli, and Martha Cassidy, with between 17 and 25 years' experience. Our expanded paralegal staff will be able to handle higher throughputs than ever.
